Who We Are
Olean Business Development Corporation (OBDC) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to the continued development of the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in the greater Olean area. OBDC strives to help entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout their business journey, from startup to transition, by deploying programming, establishing connections to other support organizations that OBDC partners with, and continuous contact with these business owners.
Our Impact
Our small town is full of big ideas, driven by amazing entrepreneurs and small business owners. Our programs and services have led to over 100 jobs being created in the Olean region, with increased revenue for these business owners, maintaining this impactful small business footprint in our region, and keeping these much-needed services in our communities.
Our Collaborative Institutions
Consistent with the concepts of the book Startup Communities, by Brad Feld, that OBDC continues to nurture, collaboration with higher education institutions is critical to a successful entrepreneurial ecosystem and community.
OBDC and the Laine Business Accelerator were pivotal in transforming my small-town flower shop dreams into a vibrant reality. It not only expanded my business, but also empowered me to infuse creativity into every aspect, fostering meaningful connections.
